Hi Topicr users,

It has already been more than a week since Topicr began its private beta. How time flies!

We received a lot of feedbacks and suggestions from you. We made them our highest priority. Here are the latest major updates from Topicr based on your feedbacks.

1.       Attachment download
Topicr now enables recipients to directly download original attachments of all types and all sizes from both received emails and on site. All large attachments will be kept for download for 14 days.  This feature addresses the needs of some people who want not only to view but also to keep a copy of the original content.

2.       Share RSS reading
You can now read and pass-along RSS content in a Topic page, or setup a RSS Topic page and send to people. This makes it very easy to share interesting RSS content among people who want to consume RSS content in a more spacious reading environment. It's especially helpful to share RSS content with people who are not used to RSS setup and reading environment.

3.       Connect to recent  readers
You can now easily connect to and interact with a recent reader who might share similar interest by using the "Recent Readers" section on each Topic page. For a public topic, the reader can be any Topicr user who is interested in the topic. For a private topic, the reader can be any recipient.

In addition to those new features mentioned above, a long list of new improvements is right now under construction. As an early user, it's an exciting time for you to participate and shape the future of this entire service. Each of your feedback is valuable to us and is taken into our serious consideration. Please keep on providing us your feedbacks and let us strive to make Topicr the best content sending and viewing platform for you.

Cheers,
Topicr Team

Today a new service called Topicr launches. It’s meant to address email users’ inability to send and receive numerous and large attachments and manage the transfer of visual and audible media within the classic compose-subject-body template. If you’re into sharing media by way of email, you might find it hugely useful.

Email has been the primary communications method for Web users for decades, and for good reason. It’s simple and effective for both short- and long-form correspondence, relatively easy to catalogue and search, and works whether your at home, at work, or on the go. (Here’s to look at you, RIM.)

Of course, it is also the bread and butter of the spammer crowd, but that the unfortunate result of the mass popularization of technology.

But despite its obvious strengths and the virtually ubiquitous access to email that Web users currently have, most mainstream services - those from Yahoo, Microsoft, and Google, just to name a few - have failed to capitalize on recent improvements in online communications. While several of the largest email providers continue to limit the depth of storage provided users for good reason, transfers of attachments continue to be limited. This has allowed services like Pando and YouSendIt to build businesses based on the idea that people should be given the opportunity if need be to send large files to one another over the Web quickly and easily.

Of course, why they’ve come to be laggards is rather simple. They have amassed hundreds of millions of users (divvied up among the top 3 or 4 webmail providers on the Net), and thus they’ve grown fat and happy, and have seen little incentive in bringing significant change to the historic medium. And though that conclusion is certainly cause for frustration, we at Mashable imagine that it’s not an entirely terrible reality. Just as long as we’ve got options to the contrary.

Topicr is utility that serves precisely that role. While we’d enjoy much more if Topicr were to find a cosy home as some kind of extension placed conveniently within our chosen email services, always ready and waiting, it presently stands more or less a solitary device.

But because it masquerades any messages created within its toolbox as if they were delivered by your preferred email service, your friends, family and colleagues can respond to you as they would with any other message sent their way. Plus, if your contacts happen to find themselves persuaded to join the Topicr membership after they’ve been intrigued by your media-rich messages, they can extend their responses with easy-access attachments (i.e., pictures, videos, songs) as well.

The product of these communiques can quickly become far more rich in presentation than they otherwise would be - and all without much time spent creating them.

Furthermore, the options for placing media within email through Topicr aren’t limited just to sending photos or videos or music. Users can sent combinations of image slide shows and music for synchronous playback. Doing so could save users a good deal of time if they’re ordinarily accustomed to producing such displays via a local software program of some sort.

Without going into too much detail here, it’s easy to see that Topicr presents itself as a potentially useful addition to your email communications. We’ve only lightly touched on the list of options available, and, well, you can imagine that this could make for a fairly powerful platform if exploited to great extent by users.

If you’re feeling adventurous, and wish to take Topicr for a spin, the company has made available 1,000 invites available to Mashable readers. If you’re quick enough to click this link, you’re in.
